Republic Poly Dining In the Dark 2010

DINING IN THE DARK
A Service-Learning Project by Joint IG collaboration - Eureka IG, Culinary IG, Conservation IG, Hotel FUZE Ig, Service-Learning club (SAS,SOH, OSG)

This event aimed at raising an awareness of challenges that people with vision impairment face everyday.

Culinary student helpers, thanks for staying back these 3 rehearsal days and actual day for help out. Though its busy all the time, we still have fun in between.

Baked Pasta

BAKED PASTA INGREDIENTS
  1. Oil
  2. Pasta 250g
  3. Red & Green Bell peppers
  4. Button Mushrooms
  5. Butter 25g
  6. Flour 25g
  7. Milk 250ml
  8. Cheese 150g
  9. Mixed vegetables 50g
  10. Salt
  11. Pepper
Method....

- Boil a pot of salt water, add  1TBSP of oil and add in pasta, cook for 15 mins
- Slice the bell peppers to thin slice and slice the mushrooms
- Heat oil over medium heat, fry the bell pepers till slightly soft then add in mushroom and fry for a short while
- Leave everything aside and prepare the sauce. Melt butter over low heat, add flour and mixed well.
- Add milk and stir at medium heat untill the mixture boils and thickens
- Stir half portion of the cheeese and add mixed vegetables, salt, pepper and simmer for about a minute or so.
- Combine pasta and the bell pepper with mushrooms in a baking tray, pour in the sauce over and sprinkle the remaining cheese over
- Bake at about 160DegreeC untill the cheese melts.
